Lancia confirms rallying return

Official: Lancia confirms rallying comeback

Lancia has confirmed its rallying comeback with the Ypsilon HF Rally4.

In the week of Italy’s WRC round of Rally Italia Sardegna, Italian manufacturer Lancia has confirmed its return to rallying.

The Stellantis brand will do so in the Rally4 class. The car will be based on the new Ypsilon HF.

The Lancia Ypsilon HF Rally4 will have a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 212 horsepower. As per Rally4 regulations, the front-wheel-drive Ypsilon Rally4 will feature a sequential gearbox.

Stellantis is already active with two brands in the Rally4 class: Peugeot with the 208 Rally4 and Opel with the Corsa Rally4.

The 208 and Corsa Rally4s are based on the same platform and share the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine and gearbox amongst other parts.

It’s yet to be confirmed when we’ll see the new Lancia Rally4 car in action for the first time.
